The Inzektors are a ridiculously overpowered Archetype released in Order of Chaos and completely exist out of DARK Attribute Insect-Type monsters. They are able to Swarm the Field with little to no effect, clearing your opponent's field in the process and easily OTK'ing your opponent. The Inzektors were in rising popularity ever since they were announced to be in Order of Chaos and when they were finally released in the TCG, tournament presence containing these monsters exploded. The first tournaments after their release already had these cards in the Top 4 and they stand on equal level of Dino-Rabbit and Wind-Up while only Dino-Rabbit keeps them from topping every tournament ever since. Unfortunately as of September 1 2012, Inzektor Dragonfly and Inzektor Hornet are Limited thus breaking the deck.

Game Play

Like stated before, the Inzektors can swarm with little to no effort while clearing your opponent's field in the process, and they only need 3 cards for the basic combo: Inzektor Dragonfly, Inzektor Hornet and Inzektor Centipede. It all starts by summoning Inzektor Dragonfly to equip Inzektor Hornet from either the hand or the grave and then you use Inzektor Hornet's effect to destroys a card on the field, this triggers Inzektor Dragonfly's effect to Special Summon an Inzektor with another name from the deck to the field. The Inzektor fetched the most times is Inzektor Centipede and then his effect is used to re-equip Inzektor Hornet and use his effect against to destroy a card on the field, and this triggers Inzektor Centipede's effect to search another Inzektor monster in the Deck and you can add it to your hand with the logical options being Inzektor Dragonfly and Inzektor Giga-Mantis.

Though this gives you high chances of taking out a few cards and Xyz Summon a Rank 3 monster to attack, it takes more to perform OTK's. This requires Inzektor Giga-Mantis to already be in your hand before you summon Inzektor Dragonfly. This gives you the possibility to self equip Inzektor Giga-Mantis to Inzektor Dragonfly and use Inzektor Centipede and Inzektor Hornet to destroy Inzektor Giga-Mantis to Summon an Inzektor from the Deck and Graveyard and you can add an Inzektor to your hand to go further with your combo's.

Building the Deck

The Core

These are the cards that should be included in every Inzektor deck regardless of what the meta looks like.

1x Inzektor Dragonfly

Inzektor Dragonfly is an unmissable force in Inzektor decks. He allows to to equip an Inzektor monster from your hand or grave and when that card is gone, he’ll let you Special Summon another Inzektor monster from your deck. (except for another Dragonfly) Most of the times you’ll be fetching Inzektor Centipede with this effect to continue expanding your field. This is practically the basics for every OTK achieved by Inzektors decks.

3x Inzektor Centipede

Like Dragonfly, Inzektor Centipede is one of the unmissable cards in any Inzektor deck. Being able to add any Inzektor card to hand when the equipped monster is gone is a good ability, especially if you’re trying to gather your OTK cards. And he has higher ATK stats then Dragonfly which means he can overrun your opponent’s monsters with a bit more ease when his effects are negated.

1x Inzektor Hornet

Hornet is the absolute core of what Inzektor decks can do. While he is equipped he can send himself to the grave to destroy a card on the field, this means he can take out cards that are in your way on your opponent’s side of the field but also your own cards to achieve an OTK. The only cards you want to destroy with Hornet’s effect on your side of the field are Inzektor Sword - Zektkaliber and Inzektor Giga-Mantis due to their fetch effects while activating the effects of Dragonfly and Centipede another few times.

1-2x Inzektor Ladybug

Ladybug is almost the same as Inzektor Hornet with the difference being their unequip effects. Where Hornet destroys card, Ladybug adds 2 more levels to the card they were equipped to. In combination with Dragonfly this can mean an instant Rank 5 Xyz Monster. Ladybug is definately a part of the core since you’ll gain access to powerful cards like Tiras, Keeper of Genesis and Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh while in turn also getting access to Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger.

1-2x Inzektor Hopper

Hopper is an ideal card to help Inzektor Dragonfly and Inzektor Centipede with when you lack Hornet’s. not only can Hopper equip other Inzektors, he can also be equipped to give of fan effect. Being able to inflict Direct Damage via a direct attack and activating the effects of Centipede and Dragonfly is a good thing to gather the cards you need. Next to that, multiple Hopper’s on the field in combination with Inzektor Ladybug enables you to achieve Rank 6 with more ease.

1x Inzektor Giga-Mantis

Being able to self-equip himself to other Inzektor monsters and changing their original ATK to 2400 is already a good thing, but his role in the OTK only increases with his other effect. If he is destroyed while equipped, you can Special Summon an Inzektor monster from your grave whom can re-equip Giga-Mantis agains to repeat the trick and to expand the field with more Inzektor monsters until you have enough monsters (including Rank 3 Xyz Monsters) to defeat your opponent in 1 wipe.

2-3x Inzektor Sword - Zektkaliber

This Spell Card gives an Inzektor monster an 800 ATK bonus making your Dragonfly, Hopper etc. much stronger. But it’s true use comes from his other ability. When the card is send to the graveyard (even if the equipped monster is destroyed) he’ll let you ad dan Inzektor monster to your hand. When Giga-Mantis is in play, he’ll be used to re-add Inzektor Giga-Mantis to your hand to continue the OTK.

The Staples

1-3x Mystical Space Typhoon

Mystical Space Typhoon may not seem like a good card at times, but it has the amazing ability of making the Inzektor archetype even more lethal since it can prevent cards like Torrential Tribute, Solemn Warning or Solemn Judgment prevent you from doing what you need to do to win or ge tan advantage. It also destroys disruptive cards like Skill Drain and Macro Cosmos who instead of blocking the deck for a second, Block the deck for as long as they are Face-Up.

1x Heavy Storm

Heavy Storm has the exact same use as Mystical Space Typhoon and has the potential to destroy more.

1x Dark Hole

Dark Hole destroys all monsters on the field. This is a good thing for when your opponent controls monsters you can’t destroy or get over. Photon Strike Bounzer and Evolzar Dolkka are 2 very real threats to Inzektor decks because of their effect negating effects. Dark Hole will clear the field to give you space to flood your opponent with Inzektor monsters.

1x Monster Reborn

Reviving an Inzektor monster to start your OTK possibilities or to destroy your opponent’s field is a very good thing.

1x Allure of Darkness

Almost all monsters you run in an Inzektor deck are Dark monsters, Allure lets you draw 2 cards and has you Banish one of the Dark monsters to keep all your cards. It’sa risk at times, but a big plus most of the times.

1x Foolish Burial

For a quick Inzektor Hornet in your Graveyard, this card can start what Inzektors do best, clear your opponent’s field.

1-2x Fiendish Chain

A card blocking effects and attacks, still can stall your opponent until you have the right cards in your hand to gain advantage.

1-2x Call of the Haunted

Basically the same as Monster Reborn but it can be disrupted by an opponent’s Mystical Space Typhoon.

1x Solemn Judgment

Being able to negate something that could mean your defeat by paying half your Life Points is something you cannot afford to forget in this deck.

1-2x Solemn Warning

Solemn Warning is able to prevent those annoying cards like Evolzar Dolkka from reaching the field by paying 2000 Life Points or it negates the one thing that can help your opponent getting an advantage over you.

Cards that change with the Format

These are the cards that change depending on the format.

2-3x Effect Veiler

Effect Veiler is a good card during format that really depend on field effects and Swarming. Always maining atleast 2 is a good thing during almost any format and can be counted as a Core at those times.

Common Techs

3x Tour Guide from the Underworld

Tour Guide is a very important card that can be counted as Core and Tech, it’s amongst the Common Techs because not every Inzektor deck runs it or needs to run it. Tour Guide allows you to fetch another or Sangan and make an instant Rank 3 Xyz Monster like the protective Wind-Up Zenmaines.

1x Sangan/Howling Insect

A random Set or a fetch by Tour Guide, Sangan is an almost unmissable tech in Inzektor decks. If destroyed, he adds a monster with 1500 or less ATK to your hand. Either Dragonfly or Hornet are the ones you’ll usually search for and he acts as a search-engine. Sangan has a little less important rival named Howling Insect. Howling Insect does almost the same as Sangan but Special Summons the monster instead and is unfectable by Tour Guide. Despite, he is still a Tech that is used at times.

1x Doom Dozer

Banish 2 Insect monsters from your grave to Special Summon this bad boy to run over your opponent’s monster is a tech whom is used quite a bit. It’s simply used a Beatstick and nothing more.

1x Gorz the Emissary of Darkness

A very important card to run despite not being in the Core, when you’re opponent tries to OTK you this is the card to have to prevent that from happening. As an added bonus, you’ll have a strong Token and a 2700 Beatstick on the field to help you achieve victory.

1x Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning

You’re only able to run this card with Effect Veiler in the deck or another Light monster. BLS is a brutal tech because of his 3000 ATK points and his ability to Banish a monster or attack twice. It’s a card you simply cannot forget when you’re running multiple Light monsters in the deck.

1-2x Genex Ally Birdman

A splashable Tuner Monster for Inzektor decks, an impopular choice but a good card anyway. Use Dragonfly and hornet to summon Centipede, bounce Dragonfly for Birdman and Synchro Summon something like Underground Arachnid to take away dangerous cards.

Extra Deck

1-2x Number 17: Leviathan Dragon

To achieve the Inzektor OTK you need multiple Rank 3 Xyz Monsters whom have the power to crush your opponents.

1-2x Number 20: Giga-Brilliant

Adding an extra 300 ATK to all monsters you control at the moment can add that extra power to your monsters to achieve the OTK and you cannot afford to forget this card in your Extra Deck.

1x Leviair the Sea Dragon

After using Allure of Darkness you can use this card to resummon a Banished Inzektor monster and assist in the OTK and other moments in the Duel to defeat your opponent.

1x Wind-Up Zenmaines

Zenmaines is a dreadfull card for nearly any deck, it offers you the needed protection until you can start destroying your opponent’s field and win the Duel.

1x Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh

Destroying 2 Set cards on the field is a powerful ability and can give that extra push towards victory.

1x Number 12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja

A Rank 5 Wind-Up Zenmaines without the destroying ability. It can come in handy when Inzektor Ladybug is your only option.

1x Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger

A materialless Number 12 or a taken over Xyz Monster from your opponent are very good optios and reasons to run this card. He has the ability to pierce through defenses and enable to defeat your opponent if he has a Gellenduo or Spirit Reaper.

Side Deck

1-2x Dimensional Fissure

This card disrupts your OTK alot but is does not stop Inzektor Hornet as he is counted as a resolving Equip Card instead of a monster.but what the card does disrupt are Dark World and Wind-Up and other decks that can take out Inzektor decks. This is an unmissable Side Deck card. And it also blocks Maxx “C” and Effect Veiler from letting your opponent have plusses over you.

1-2x Gemini Imps

Some extra protection against Dark World, most notably against Dark World Dealings, Card Destruction and Dragged Down into the Grave.

1-2x Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer

An 1800 Beatstick who blocks D.D. Crow and saves your Hornet’s.

1x Mind Control

More or less to help you Xyz Summon and take away your opponent’s monsters. 1-2x Royal Decree

This card takes away threats like Burn and other dangerous cards. Also blocks Skill Drain etc. and it really needed in the Side.

Skeleton Decklist

As mentioned before, field effect negating cards like Skill Drain and Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror are cards that shut down the entire deck. The existance of these cards require you to run things like Royal Decree and Mystical Space Typhoon. Next to that we have the dreadful Macro Cosmos and Banisher of the Radiance. One can be blocked with Royal Decree and the other requires you to run cards like Spirit Reaper until you can run him over or destroy him. The final real threat is D.D. Crow but Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer and Dimensional Fissure are able to block this card.

Why Aren’t These Cards Used?

Inzektor Ant

Ant is not used due to his lack of good stats and further good abilities. The only usefullness he has over him is when he stays equiped and blocks a destruction, but Inzektors only require this when their effects are negated and then he cannot be equipped at all.

Inzektor Earwig

Earwig gives an extra 1000 ATK but it all stops there, Zektkaliber may give less extra ATK but he has an extra effect that makes him really useful.

Inzektor Firefly

Firefly is used in Hornet’less builds and has the ability to take a peek at your opponent’s Set cards, in main builds these Set cards are all to be destroyed with hornet so there is absolutely no need for this card Inzektor decks.

Inzektor Giga-Cricket

It is simply outrunned by Giga-Mantis in terms of ATK bonus and effect.

Inzektor Giga-Weavil

Giga-Weavil has been used in many decks until people discovered Zektkaliber was the better card to use instead of him.

Inzektor Axe - Zektahawk

This is Earwig with the added bonus of avoiding cards like Mirror Force and Dimensional Prison, but a normal Inzektor deck has already gotten rid of these cards before attacking meaning it is an unnecessary card.

Inzektor Crossbow - Zektarrow

A 500 ATK bonus and not being able to Chain to the effects of your monsters, it’s simply not good enough to compete with the Metagame.

Final Inzektion

Send 5 face-up Inzektor monsters to the grave to become a Dark Hole, 5 Face-Up Inzektors practically means you’re busy OTK’ing your opponent. This card has absolutely no use.

Inzektor Gauntlet

Zektahawk with a DEF plus instead of ATK making it somesort of Wind-Up Zenmaines. You’re better off making a Zenmaines then using this card by far.

Inzektor Orb

This card is actually still used, but at such a low level it can be counted as not used. It’s effect is good, but not every effect targets so it only has a usefulness against certain decks. If you decide to use it, Side it.

Zekt Conversion

A type of Mind Control that definately takes over an opponent’s monster. Mind Control does this better and cannot be interupted beforehand with Heavy Storm or Mystical Space Typhoon.

Inzektor Exa-Beetle

A Rank 6 monster with low ATK and a reasonable effect, not good for Inzektor but there are other decks that make use of Exa-Beetle.

Inzektor Exa-Stag

Exa-Stag does finds his way int osome Inzektor decks and they sometimes score high at tournaments like YCS’s but his usefulness is as high as that of Doom Dozer with the added bonus of taking away a monster from your opponent’s Graveyard but it requires more effort to summon.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series

The presence of the Inzektors couldn't be missed the past few YCS tournaments since Order of Chaos was released, they were in the Top 32 of every Yu-Gi-Oh! championship Series after that even winning one.
